Madonna sings this absolutely beautifully. Gorgeous. It wasn't suppose to be similar to the broadway version in the key nor the tone. That would have been way too harsh for a movie. Madonna did a fantastic job. Proves beyond a doubt she can sing, and sing quite achingly beautifully.

Please. Juse please. This woman's girlie whine has always been irritating at best, and she has never been able to perform any of these songs in public. A heavily edited and pro-tooled performance doesn't make a good singer, and Madonna isn't.
She only got the role because of her prominence as a pop culture icon.

Elixir155- it just kills you that Madonna gave such a wonderful performance. So you say she hasn't been able to perform any of these songs in public then of course you qualify that with "heavily edited or pro-tooled" because you HAVE seen her perform them in public and perform them wonderfully- Sooner Or Later at the Oscars, Mother and Father- RIT tour, LAMENT from Evita- Reinvention Tour, Ray of Light a hundred times. Dressed up to the nines = Wearing fancy clothes (like a nine o'clock ball i guess)
At sixes and sevens = A state of confusion, disorder. In this case, it means she's confused about him.
