Great song....but I have to admit the quasi necrophilia at the end with the mermaid is a little disturbing! I mean a bunch of dead bodies, and she is still trying to make out with a recently dead guy!

I saw Michael open for They Might Be Giants in 2006, and despite some of the flack the TMBG fans gave him for doing depressing songs in a depressing style (as opposed to TMBG's more upbeat, ironic stance), I found him and his music rather charming. I wish I'd picked up "My Favorite Place to Drown" at the time. (Although I may order it soon enough...)
I thought this video would be oddly optimistic toward the end—I'm glad that Leviton's crushing lyrics were accompanied by crushing visuals. ^.^
