The highest court in Honduras told Zelaya that what he was doing was illegal but, he went ahead with it as he was told to do by Chavez. He wanted to be president for life just like Chavez. By the way, all of you who are posting trash and blaming the U.S., get out from behind your computers and go to Honduras and help your communist brothers and sisters. All you Communist supporters, don't worry, you have the biggest weapon available in bring back the Zelaya government. Its called the Obama administration. There is very little difference between Obama, Clinton, Chavez, and Zelaya. Its amazing how some protest that Michelletti has shut down two radio stations who are being pushed by the international communist to cause unrest in Honduras. Yet no one says a word about what Chavez has done in Venezuela. You have to wonder, don't you.

Believe it or not, no Latin American leader needs Hugo Chavez to explain to them what to do. They all have independent minds, strategies and so on. They are not babies! :) 1) I would check the slants and sources of where you read that (asking were these "predeclared winners" even a part of the invented charges against Zelaya?) 2) Zelaya's "own party" are traditionally rightwing: ie in favour of the rich minority and opposed to the interests of the poor majority.

I'd turn that one around: It's disgusting the way the right claims that Chavez's perfectly legitimate non-renewal of a TV station's state-issued license, (following the station's active role in a coup) is somehow censorship, whereas Micheletti brutally closes down the only pro-Zelaya media (in Venezuela the opposition media is some 90% of the media), destroying equipment and torturing at least one journalist, Delmer Mendreño. To a sane person there is no comparison! :)

Oh and the old lie about international communists has changed! Did no one tell you? Even your friend Micheletti knows that. That's why he didn't accuse them of being communists, he said "terrorists" (when you don't agree with someone's politics today the keyword is not "communist" anymore, it's "terrorist"!) Chavez has shut down all opposition including throwing in prison anyone who would have the nerve to run against him or challenge his rule. I know that there is no use in arguing with communist sympathizers. The USSR might have collapsed but, the ideology lives on in the minds of mental midgets like Chavez and Castro. Please explain to this simple mind, what opposition is left in Venezuela. Chavez, instructed by Fidel Castro has arrested or shut down any one who dares oppose him. Since you like Googling so much, why don't you look at it up. I have relatives that live in Venezuela and they keep me informed of what is happening there. They tell me that they keep their mouths shut for fear of what will happen to them. My uncle who purchased a small farm back in the 60's has had it confiscated by Chavez.

It is a very small minority of the Honduran population that is out protesting against the current government. If you consider the size of the Honduran military, if the entire country wanted Zelaya back, the military would never be able to stop them. These poor mental midgets are part of a communist movement that is being supported with Chavez' petro-dollars. Just like Chavez is supporting the FARC in Colombia in an effort to destabilize that country. Communism and Rights= oil+water!

Since you ask, I try to read some of the American (Latin American to be precise) press when looking for Latin American news. I have very ocasionally read the odd article in a US paper, generally when seeking a specific article I've heard about. I am living in the UK and it is hard to imagine the US press is any worse than the UK one on Latin American matters. As to facts, I like to cast a wide net: books, personal contacts, intelligent analysis, etc.
