You might know an ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
You might know an uncle in Havana, but I just returned from Cuba 10 days ago and was there 2weeks with my family and what I am saying is completely true. Open your eyes. By the way, just because I think Cuba is a totalitarian dictatorship does not mean I support Posada Carriles or any other kind of terrorist.

I am well aware that the US is not interested in Cuba. If they were they would have invaded long time ago. But what does this have to do with the comment I made? You are obviously clueless as to what goes on in Cuba. The level of corruption in the US cannot be compared to that of the US. Can you get off a speeding ticket in the US by offering the officer $10? That's exactly what I did outside of Jose Martin Int. airport a little over a week ago.

look how bad miami is!! as far has political views go. supporting posada carriles and also having a terrorist group called alpha 66. yes maybe cuba is bad but take a look at other third world countries and u will see that cuba is not bad as countries like HAITI, or most countries in africa. u can hate on castro all u want. but u have to respect him!! he did alot of good things for cubans. i also know alot of fidelistas from cuba and they tell me the truth
also i have been ... ( 4 meses por platanorico86)
also i have been their and say the poverty in cuba. i didnt go to the resorts. cuba looks just like all third world countries. except cubans like to blame on fidel. and if u wanna talk about totalitarian dictatorship try looking up RAFAEL TRUJILLO. u wanna talk about someone who change the capital santo domingo to his name and the money with his face on it. then thats the dictator. cubans leave for money reasons not political reason.
and im talking to u ... ( 4 meses por platanorico86)
and im talking to u as a man not with disrespect. i have cuban in my family and they are all fidelista living in playa, havana and they dont work for the government. soo who am i going to believe my family who lives in playa, havana or the corrupt cubans terrorist in miami?
Miami is so bad ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
Miami is so bad that you a Castro sympathizer are allowed to roam the streets of Miami and post on this site without getting arrested. Comparing Haiti or Africa to Cuba is as unfair as comparing Cuba to the US. Between 1902-1959 Haitians would travel to Cuba to find jobs. Cuba was not a developed country in 1959 but it was doing WAY better than Haiti or any country in Africa. And ask your Fidelista buddies if they live of the salary in Cuban pesos they earn?
You need to compare ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
You need to compare Cuba to Latin American countries which had similar levels of development before 1959 like Uruguay, Argentina, Costa Rica. The population in all of these countries enjoy a standard of living well above that of Cuba. Other countries like Panama and Chile where poorer than Cuba in 1959 and today have surpassed Cuba. Cubans blame the problems on Fidel because the socialist experiment that has taken place in Cuba has totally ruined the economy and forces them to cheat and steal
For your info: ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
For your info: Playa is one of the most well-off areas in all of Cuba. The vast majority of the people living in Playa are govt functionaries. I suggest you take a walk through Centro Habana next time you visit Cuba. Thats the real Havana, the Havana of the average Cuban. And I highly doubt that your family in Playa lives off comfortably if they are not in the government without having to steal from the government or without getting remittances.
dont u blame the ... ( 4 meses por platanorico86)
dont u blame the embargo for all of that? the countries u have named dont have an embargo and are well supported by the us government. especially costa rica. i dont think people know how serious the embargo is. ur talking about the number 1 business around the world. the embargo is very big! um no i dont think playa is a well off area. its sure isnt a tourist spot. and yes my family lives off 200 cuban pesos a month.
so r u saying that ... ( 4 meses por platanorico86)
so r u saying that haiti is better than cuba right now? im not talking about the past im talkingbout now! its ok to let cubans here in america with the wet feet dry feet policy. but its ok to deport haitians who come here in boats u dont see anything wrong with that? my problem is that how ignorant the cubans in miami are. seriously lets see when castro dies. would u want cuba to be like under batista again? making havana into a hoehouse and the US owning all of cuba? a puppet president
No I don't blame ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
No I don't blame the embargo because for 30 years Cuba got very generous soviet subsidies and currently Cuba gets a lot of oil from Venezuela. Yet in spite of the embargo, the US is Cuba's seventh largest trading partner. I suggest you quit the BS (embargo, Miami mafia, terrorist crap) and look at Cuba for what it is, a third world country ruled by a dictator with an inefficient collectivist economy that has failed in every country it has been tried, with or without embargo.
You need to get off ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
You need to get off the demagogue. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Haiti was better off than Cuba. And YOU ARE talking about the past because you can only defend your viewpoints by bringing up Batista. Cubans rose up against Batista to bring about change and establish a democratic government in Cuba, not the totalitarian dictatorship that the Castro brothers have installed. BTW, I think we should make it easier for Haitians to immigrate.
So you prefer Fidel ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
So you prefer Fidel Castro, his cronies, and European investors owning all of Cuba vs having the U.S. own businesses in Cuba, b/c lets get this straight, most businesses nationalized in Cuba in the 1960s were owned by Cubans, not Americans. The Cuban people own less of their country today than they did 50 years ago. And you don't think Fidel was a puppet of the Soviets who thanks to him were able to establish their only communist enclave/satellite in the Americas?
Actually your right ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
Actually your right. Playa is a shithole when compared to even Hialeah, but it is probably (along with Varadero, Cardenas and Matanzas cuz of tourism) one of the wealthiest municipalities in all of Cuba. And you need to stop lying because no one in Cuba lives off 200 cuban pesos a month, especially in Havana. Just phone and electricity at my dad's house in Santa Clara is close to $100 pesos/month. I recommend you go to Cuba and try living a month with $200 cuban pesos.
Do you also blame ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
Do you also blame the embargo for the fact that Cuba has had no free elections since 1948, that open internet access is practically unavailable (I was unable to check any of my email accounts in the 2 weeks I was there and I tried it in about 5 computers with "internet" access), that every form of media is controlled by the govt, that neighborhood watch orgs (CDR) spy on you, or that Cubans must buy basic things like soap, detergent, and toothpaste in dollars?
I can't wait for ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
I can't wait for the embargo to be lifted so that I can see what pathetic excuse for Cuba's economic failure people like you are going to make up. But I'll let you in on this: people in Cuba are not buying the "its the blockade" scam anymore.
MIAMI GUSANOS = ... ( 4 meses por platanorico86)
MIAMI GUSANOS = Former cowardly rich scumbags who oppressed the Cuban peasants and rubbed elbows with the mafia (who turned the island into America's "Whore house"). They ran Batista's rape rooms and torture chambers - and then got mad when CHE brought the people JUSTICE !
Che should have had more of these goons SHOT ! Then maybe Miami wouldn't be so infested with them.

platano,
Your blatent & willful ignorance of Cuban history & hatred towards anyone who disagrees with you is obvious.
You've learned well from your teachers Fidel & Che. Hate! Be dogmatic, intolerant, intellectually dishonest and cold bloodedly murderous and destroy freedom & progress in their name.
Castro's mafia have been opressing Cubans for nearly 50 years standing on the shoulders of the poor in order to raise themselves to power & oppress the people just as Jose Marti warned.
You talk about 20% ... ( 4 meses por cubars)
You talk about 20% of the Cuban nation who live in exile. People who span generations, socioeconomic groups, professions & trades, races, colors, creeds & political beliefs. Did they all work for Batista?
CHE brought people to justice? How? By denying his victims due process of law & a fair trial! That isn't justice. That is MURDER!
Oh, I'm sorry. CHE was just following his mentor, Stalin who murdered 20 million people, or was Mao his mentor? He murdered 50 million.
Batistianos left ... ( 4 meses por tcguy999)
Batistianos left Cuba in the first year of the revolution and make up a very small percentage of the Cuban exile. Most Cubans in Miami were early Castro supporters who realize how the revolution they had supported had been cheated and replaced with a totalitarian state. Che did not bring anybody to justice because HE killed people without trial. Glad to see you finally show your real self - I guess you were just unable to argue with the facts.
