He basecly got Cuba for fidel and helped bring it up in the 50's. Cuba was nice back then. The reason it's shitty right now is because they don't have new stuff like for example the newest car you could probably get there is a 1962 model year. He also helped people out throughout Central+South America and parts of Africa. He was a revolutionary who belived in communism. He is famous today because he symbolizes change, revlolution, rebel, fighting the power and all that mumbo jumbo.

you need to research for truth and never settle with one side of it, if you want to find out who he was, you need to look out for everything you can read or watch, there is a couple of movies of him, staring Benicio del Toro, called 'El Argentino' and 'Guerrilla' the second one, but I couldn't say how sticked to the truth they are cause I haven't seen it, though, but if you really want to know, I could maybe try yo help.
