Considering the tone and influences on Evangelion, I'm rather sure it was this the song title was referring to, not the god.
and where do u think it came?????
thanatos ,the god of death was the reason of the name freud used , no matter what u say, the root of all this is him
And yes, the god is where the name originally came from, but it's still not what this song is referring to, it's the concept which Shinji displays many times throughout the anime.
If I mentioned "Rock lobster" and "the B-52s" in the same sentence, do you think I'd be talking about the band, or the plane of the same name which they are indirectly named after?
Made me think back to Act II or Act III of
'THE TRAGEDY OF Julius Caeser', and the quote=
"et tu Brute?' or in english= "You to Brutus?"
