one thing more, a peruvian english teacher, who lived in USA for 6 years, who travelled around that country, and of course knew it and its people, told me about many dirty cities, with very unpolite people, but there were others really nice. not for the other cities she thought USA was a shit...
And not because a lot of stupid racist and xenophobic chileans exists the nice rest who come here are shit.

You know, I have reasons to hate chileans, read about "el cautiverio" and "chilenizacion" in Tacna, my grand mother told me about crimes that chileans commited, lots of crimes against human rights, even against her and her family,
but she never hated chileans in general.

I don't know anything about Chileans, I don't know any Chileans, my opinion of Peru is bases ONLY on the two horrible years I spent there. While I did manage to meet a few decent Peruvians, the general attitude there is disgusting. I don't know why Chleans go to Peru, maybe it's not much different from their own cities, and maybe things are cheaper in Peru.
Yes, I am ashamed of many things about my country, and there are some stupid peoplehere, but we like order, cleanliness, politeness...

and I am used to those things. The level of aggression in Lima is something beyond my comprehension. We have rules that we obey, we try not to intrude on other people so blatantly - we do not beep our horns constantly, we do not race our noisy cars up and down quiet streets for no reason, our ice cream sellers do not blow their cornetas like they are trying to kill somebody with them, we would not allow thousand watt bullhorns with people SCREAMING through them to sell their things...

We do not have "guardians" blowing their ridiculous whistles every 30 seconds in quiet neighborhoods 24 hours a day. We do not drive with the gross "ME FIRST" attitude - to the point where drivers will squeeze their way in front of the other drivers in any rude, selfish way they possibly can. The few people here who do such things - eventually they get caught and dealt with by the law.
Yes, again, we have problems in this country, in fact, there is a certain group of very powerful people ...

who have, for the most part, totally destroyed my once great country, and I am ashamed of that sad fact. But that doesn't change what I saw in Lima. Alan Garcia has a monster job to do - to educate people, to try to teach them to behave in a decent way. The thing is, the police there are just as bad, they like the beeping and rude driving habits - because they do the same.

not just one comment, in fact many comments of other people, even include in movies, tv series etc I saw that the same USA people knows and say that.
this is one example of city, I just broke your generalization of all USA people is polite, so then not everybody is so polite, even when there are many nice people.

Did anybody see me say that ALL Americans are polite??? Try reading my posts. I'm generalizing, and I know how much liberal thinking people HATE that, but it happens. I'm talking about consistent behavior, behavior of the majority of people. Most Peruvians are selfish, rude, people. Most Americans are (at least in public) polite and considerate. You SEE??? I'm talking about consistent behavior. To say EVERYBODY and mean it (or take it) literally is just plain stupid. Come on, I know...

that you hate hearing less than flattering things about your people, but as long as you continue to defend it, they will not learn to be decent. These people need to learn to be decent. We have problems here, of course we do, and they need to be addressed, but I'm not talking about our own probems at a video comment section titled "Earthquake Peru".

When a small person can't win the argument, hears things he doesn't like, it doesn't take long for the smart ass to start.
I've been to many towns in Peru, Paracas, Oxampampa, Ica (they were the WORST in Ica), and many in between, they all have the same selfish attitude, and the same aggression. All the denial and smart ass in the world will not change the facts.

I've been in one of the places you mentioned, and others more, so I've never seen that attitude you say, I saw some french english and northamerican people who were spending a very good time, in Cuzco and Iquitos too
