| The Hertz testimony should have been so simple to discredit. When cross-examining the Hertz employees, did the defense ask them how long they typically take to deliver a car? Then did they ask ask them why they didn't deliver the car to Eric Volz until almost 4pm IF they actually got the call before 2:45pm, and they were told it was an emergency? It seems to me that the Hertz employees don't have their facts in order. |

| When the defense presented phone records to the judge, she immediately threw them out and refused to consider them. Clearly, she didn't want to consider anything that weakened the prosecution's case. The prosecution had the authority to present phone records, but they didn't. Obviously, they didn't find any phone records that supported their case. If phone records are found that place the call before 2:45pm, we all know it won't affect your opinion, ricardodelgado. |

| Oops. I meant after 2:45pm in that previous comment. If the call to Hertz was before 2:45pm, then it would certainly be good evidence that Volz is guilty. Anyways, I haven't visited this site in almost a year. I come back and find Ricardodelgado's comments all over the place, and I post one little comment. | I've been watching more interviews now that Volz is out of jail. I have to agree with you, Ricardo, that Volz looks completely guilty in the interviews. He's not the kind of person I would associate with or want my daughters to date. However, you have to have evidence to convict someone. You can't just throw them in jail based on looks. Face it, in this case there is no solid evidence against Volz. On the contrary, there are witnesses that say he was elsewhere. |

| If the Hertz call was made before Volz received the call from Gaby, then I would agree that Volz probably had something to do with the murder. But why do you think the prosecution didn't get this information? They could have gotten it any time. Why didn't they? |

| Ricardo, the people investigating this crime messed up big time. I have come to the conclusion that they weren't interested in solving this crime at all. Why else would they let the crime scene get contaminated? Why didn't they get solid evidence? Why didn't they perform a thorough autopsy or DNA analysis. They didn't even examine the evidence they had. The blood at the scene wasn't even Volz' blood type. Basically, all they did was lie to Doris' mother that Volz confessed. |

| Then they let the mother sway public opinion and got the conviction. You know, there is overwhelming statistical evidence that power lines do NOT cause cancer. But you get one or two grieving mothers that lost a child to leukemia and happened to live next to a power line and claim that the power lines caused it and what happens? | For sure, Volz wasn't in SJDS at the time of the murder. There's too much evidence for him to have been there. I don't think they have enough evidence for an intellectual murder, either. In the end, I can't get past the following: A jealous man wouldn't hire other men to go rape his girlfriend. Here is how it happened: Volz hired two losers, set up 100 alibis in Managua, bought ticket to fly out of Nic, made a mistak in answering Gaby's call, made anothe big mistake of saying why he needed a car(probably so he can be guaranteed a car on such short notice)Lets look at Volz's call pattern for two months and see if he made a shitload calls on a regular basis. | The prosecution could have brought those things up in the trial. But they didn't, and the judge refused to look at the phone evidence that was brought up. However, it would be interesting to see that evidence. |
