The Incident of The Hajj Season of 1406 (1986) :
on the 3rd day of Dhu Al Hijjah of 1406 H (1986 AD) , the Saudi customs in King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has succeeded in failing an attempt to smugle 51 Kilograms of C4 high explosives which has been detained with Iranian Pilgrims whom came on the Iranian flight no.3169 from Asfahan
the Saudi Customs usually investigate all the luggage , but when the customs officer (named Sa'ad) emptied the first Iranian bag he noticed that its heavier than what its supposed to be . Then he have discovered that the base of the bag is of thick wood board that seems to be suspicious . They discovered it was two peices of wood been glued to each other and after opening them , there is a suspecious sticky white substance in the center which appeared later to be the C4 high explosives . The Saudi Customs found out that all Iranian luggage (94~95 bags) contain the same wooden boards which contains the C4 HE and the sum weight of it is 51 KG's .
on the Video , a Chemical expert speaks about the C4 specifications and shows how it was hidden in the Iranian luggage . Then a Saudi Police officer shows an experiment on detonating 1 kilogram only of the C4 high explosive in two cars .
Iranians Confessions :
Then the vidoe shows two Iranian brothers , one of them is the head of the pilgrims caravan , confessing what they were told to do ..
the Iranian criminal named Muhammad Hasan Ali Muhamadi Dahnawi who works in nursing confessing that the target of smuggling the explosives to the Kingdom is to serve the Iranian interests and admitted that he didn't do it for money or anything else and that he could've refused doing it .
Then it shows his brother , the second Iranian criminal named Muhammad Ali Dahnawi who works as a teacher in Iran saying that Riza Tawakuli was insistent on smuggling the explosives despite that his brother didn't agree with it .
Muhammad Ali continues , "my brother told me that Riza Tawakuli has taken him to Tehran where they told him that this work is protected by the country and that he shouldn't fear because he is not alone in it"
Muhammad Hasan says "i have a friend named Ali Bu nianian and this friend introduced me to one of his friends named Riza Tawakuli , i gave the Pilgrims luggage to Riza Tawakuli and he is the one who put these explosives in the Pilgrims luggage and i brought it to here"
Muhammad Ali says "when i saw my brother with a Saudi employee he said salam alaikum to me and said that he didn't recieve the bags , then he asked me if i saw Riza Tawakuli and i said no . Then he said when you see Riza Tawakuli then tell him of what happened and that they discovered whats in the bags and took it"
Muhammad Hasan says "Riza Tawakuli as He introduced himself to me saying that he is one of the members of the Revolutionary Guard and as he explained to me he said : [you as a manager of the Pilgrims caravan then you're able to smuggle the explosives into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Pilgrims luggage and i'll be there before you to recieve these explosives from you and we'll use it in the proper way] "
Muhammad Ali says "I think that Riza Tawakuli didn't came from Iran after he knew that it was discovered , or that he came but then they brought him back to Iran or taken him to somewhere else , and its possible that he might be in the embassy"
Muhammad Hasan who looks nervous says "these bags are made in Iran , i'm an Iranian (Hamladar) , the Pilgrims are Iranians , the plane is Iranian and it came from Iran .. its all obvious and nothing is hidden in it .. what is their purpose of that ? i don't know but i say ask the Iranian government"
