The video is an album cover! I had all of the mp songs on vinyl. I got into them because I grew up in the LA area, and I went to a lot of live shows. I was into Zappa from 1968, and Terry Bozzio was his drummer for a while. Then, he married a groupie with talent, Dale, and they went off on their wild New Wave direction. And the rest is history! I like MP!

Can it possibly get any better?
Hard question, but New wave couldnt reach a higher pinnacle than this album achieves.
Many would argue its a contrived pop album.
And many assume it cant be New Wave if it isnt from the UK.
But we know how confused the masses can be.
Though this is not my favorite track from the album
Its a glorious example of how great this record is.
I will tell you 2 things,
North America was the true gound of New Wave
Missing Persons did it best.

Another one of the groups that I consider to be amongst the all-time great new wave artists is also from the US ... Slow Children. I have several of their tracks posted if you're not familiar with them.

Kraftwerk invented "New Wave" I guess. (I don't care for their music though.) But the best New Wave bands usually came from America imo. Missing Persons is a great example of New Wave too. And Devo's album "Freedom Of Choice" is a great album. It's one of those albums you have to listen to from beginning to end. But if someone asked me what New Wave was I'd put on a Missing Persons album.

Kraftwerk invented Techno,not New Wave...almost 10 year span before Wave created.
Germany produce no Wave bands.
The roots of Wave go not much further than this example, this is from a EP if I remember probally early 81 or so...Just before this was Punk Rock and Pop punk...
Wave is North American spawn,Not the Krauts.

Missing Persons was that rare dudes-wearing-makeup, MTV-ready bands that were actually talented musicians. Couldn't really say that about Human League..
The jazz snobs I hung with in high school were all over this stuff. Good music is good music.
