and he was awesome at it
.With his amazing start, which is far better than johnsons, his long stride which is better than johnsons and his stamina which is debatable but trainable he will set a new unbeatable benchmark, say in the next olympics. Quote me on that.

Actually i kinda beleive that, deep down, but it hasnt been proven. Plus, being jamaican, i wouldn't want people to be saying that about my athletes, which they are. I dont think wariner has topped out however, nor wis olympic thorn in his side. His record will be broken in the next 2 years. And i', being conservative

Not by Michael Johnson it wasn't. It's what's called the even paces strategy where the same pace is attempted throughout the race. In practice the second 200 meters is almost always slower than the first. MJ's world record split: 21:22 and 21:96. Actually breaking it down further his second 100 meters was the fastest at 10:12 and his last 100 the slowest at 11:52. In practical terms that's pretty much an even pace throughout the whole race-- no negative split was attempted.

Both great dominate runners for their time and I have the utmost respect for both of them. Wariner just doesn't have the power that Michael has, which is especially evident in the last 100. :)

Jeremy have some big shoes to fill. M. Johnson won the 400 meters 58 straight times. He has to be considered one of the greatest runners ever. Also Jeremy have to find a way to beat Shawn Merriet consistantly.

Sorry I need to correct that, I was looking a previous video that he had won 58 straight 400meters finals when he broke the world record, but that was in 1999. I forgot he ran in the 2000 olympics so it has to be over 60.
