There's nothing ... ( 11 months ago por breaks0)
There's nothing socialist about a fucking right wing coup and the new guy is not socialist in any way. Lugo was kind've a
populist liberation theology guy, but he was hardly socialist either and he couldn't get much done since the country's congress is still largely controlled by the post-military, post-fascist right wing. The danger is from the right, as usual and this shit can't stand any more in the 21st century
. If anything Lugo didn;t go far enough to the left.
The Parliament is ... ( 11 months ago por breaks0)
The Parliament is the army and this is bs, it's basically what happened to Zelaya 3 years ago, it wont and can't stand and his supporters'll have a popular uprising if that's what it takes to restore him, why fucking remove him any way if he's term limited to leave in less than 1 year when the next election's due? It smacks of the fucking Colorado
 party's old games.

Fernando Lugo, ... ( 11 months ago por sikavik)
Fernando Lugo, Paraguay's President from 2008-2012. A leftist, he
"introduced free treatment in public hospitals, boosted low-income housing, & began cash-transfers to the poor." During the 4 years of his presidency, Paraguay experienced 25% economic growth.

illegal in the Paraguayan constitution..it is still wrong..2 hours to defend your self on such huge charges...its madness
There are many ... ( 11 months ago por Array)
There are many reasons for peasants to take land; and while these reasons existe, something is terribly wrong with a country
´s internal structure. I´ve been teo Paraguay a while ago, and you can virtually *feel* fascism and militarism. It´s one of the least progressed countries in Latin America. Taking out Lugo *was* a coup d´état. However, actual development in South America will take care. This will be repaired
. These guys need to pass on to *real democracy* - I believe they will.

Why AJ don't talk about the statement of the president of Brazil againt the coup in Paraguay, and also the traduction of the statement that said president of Argentina is completly FAKE. What a
 shitty "journalism" from AJ.

the trial only lasted 2-5hr that's the shortest impeachment ever no way that was legitimate no way. A true impeachment takes weeks
 not less than one day.

I should add when I ... ( 10 months ago por breaks0)
I should add when I say the country's fucked up, I mean it's very poor, very unequal and very (until Lugo) authoritarian country and society. I'm obviously not
making a cultural critique, but this country is socioeconomically and politically well behind most of its neighbors, including Bolivia, which at least has a long history of indigenous people, social movements, revolutions, miners unrest and other social forces to fight the petroclique in Santa C
ruz. It's alot weaker in Paraguay.
