It's great that China won this one . However, my comment was more of a "big picture" nature. Cuba is, per capita, THE force in women's volleyball and has been for 20 years . I love China, too. :)

i miss the veterans of cuba namely fernandez valle, regla bell mackenzie, regla torres, yumilka ruiz, marlenis costa, costa blanco and aguerro. that was just the best line up ever.

Last time I checked the Olympics count, Cuba has 13 medals and China has 81 medals. When you are a big country you don't concentrate on a single sport unlike countries such as Cuba. I am sure the Chinese are not losing sleep over one match...

Cuba has excellent volleyball players/teams as well as baseball and their boxers are very good too. Looks like they will have to duke it out for bronze with China since Italy (pop. 60 million) schooled China (1.3 billion) in the semis in Beijing. Italy also does well in men's volleyball and I think they are ok at soccer too. I may be wrong...

This was a great match. However, I don't think they were an extremely great team this year. The chinese volleyball team of 2004 I felt was way better. Maybe it was the need to win gold again after 20 years, maybe it was just the right moment. But I do think there was something missing about them in beijing that they had in athens.

El renovado equipo de Cuba de beijing 2008, fue similar al gran equipo de Sidney 2000 , solo q la diferencia es las de beijing 08 quedaron primeras en su grupo y derrotaron igual q el de sidney 2000 , aun equipo europeo por 3x0 , la diferencia es q cayeron en semifinal por 3x0 y el de sidney 2000 vencio por 3x2 , y de beijing kedo 4to y el de Sidney 2000 gano el oro y volteo el partido a Rusia
