I have an 04 Accent. It's crude, it's boring, and by far the best car I've ever owned. It's not luxurious but it's simple and dependable. They've come a long way in making a decent, well made car for the money. I've had it just 3 years and put over 70K on it already.

Of course it would beat it on top speed. That rally car will be geared specifically for sprinting; it's probably doing 7000rpm in top gear by 100mph. I take your point, but $500 of exhaust isn't going to make up for a car set up specifically to win that race...
