A group of Palestinian refugees, the first of 117, has arrived in Chile after being granted asylum.
Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman travelled to La Calera to see how they are settling into a new life thousands of kilometres from Iraq - the country where they were born, and from where they were forced to flee.

Es un error de la parte del gobierno chileno al dar refugio a los Palestinos. Los Palestinos se pueden aceptado por otros paises arabes: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, etc., donde la mayoria de la poblacion es musulman. Si los Palestinos fueron ricos, o tengan su pais proprio, es dudoso si hicieran la misma generosidad que Chile les ofrece.

Los que llegan son super pocos y terminan adecuandose a las costumbres chilenas, no les queda otra, de hehco en Chile hay más de medio millón de descendientes de palestinos. LA COLONIA MÁS GRANDE DE PALESTINOS EN TODO EL MUNDO.

I dont mind them as long as they adapt to the country's culture. I europe they tend to want the country they live in to adapt to them and not the other way around. I really really hope they take the chilean culture into their life and become chileans. If not i dont think chileans would treat them as nice as europeans do. :p
