Enviado por: unkepthope
Descripción del video:
Runway 1. You will notice I am below glide slope if you check out the 4 VASI lights... I am going lower on purpose... Imagine where I would be landing if I went perfectally on glide slope.

The PAPI lights are there for reason. You must never let all reds to be there. The PAPI is there to help you avoid hitting something on your way.
For this kind of airports you need to use a steep approach with short flare and than aggressive braking. Basically this is a short-field landing with clearing an obstruction.

true... i wasnt confident to do the steep approach you are talking about...i have practiced steep approaches a lot lately with single engine aircraft in small landing strips so i get the feel for it..thanks.

armanys2003 is right. You should follow the PAPI properly, and use short field precedures if the runway looks too short.

You don´t have to worry about the airport is large and safe enough.
The glideslope is ... ( 9 meses por Elantrix)
The glideslope is used to help guide the pilot over the quickest and safest slope, normally it's 3deg. If you follow the PAPI properly, flare at 50 feet you should hit the runway at a safe speed and angle.
