Aunque me encanta el reggueton estoy de acuerdo contigo. Puerto Rico tiene tanta musica pegajosa..aunque sea "viejo" esta musica es nuestra tambien y dice mas de nuestras raices que el reggeaton.

We are a mix of 3 races: Taino Indian, Spanish and African. I have to say that I can definately relate to our African roots. So much rhythm, passion, movement and power. You can see as the second woman dances, she will move, and the drums will change their "repique" or rhythm according to her movements. I love her energy and the drummers too. Beautiful.

Murggik-
El boricua que niegue su ascendencia negra no es boricua. De mi parte yo estoy muy orgullosa de mis raices y me parece que tu comentario es despectivo hacia los negros. Por lo tanto tu caes tan bajo como los boricuas que niegan su parte africana

In Africa, dancing means more than just fancy steps. Even the drum beat has a message. The second woman danced as if the moves were past down. She is exceptionally talented. We African Americans have forgotten our roots! We have totally sterilized dancing to accomodate the Western world's idea of dance. Also, for all the ricans who are making negative comments about the blacks of Loiza and the African music, get a life! That African beat is what made Puerto Rico music popular, OKAY!

chuchuka whatever your name is. you are cibaena and you are not accustomed to this music? we have palo in the dominican republic in villa mella and san juan de la maguana has many different types of african dominican music. check out videos on here with palo. you are totally wrong we have our music too.
pupu or whatever ... ( 1 month ago por PeepeeYChuchuka)
pupu or whatever your name is. Yes,I am cibaena and no,I do not listen to this type of music, so much there for that neither my family or neigboring families had any idea of huge diversity of our music and Santo Domingo music (ex. palos). All I listen to growing up were tipicos, pambiches, bachata(as in REAL bachata,Luis Segura)and sometimes mangulinas.
i am cibaeno myself ... ( 1 month ago por pupusoft)
i am cibaeno myself from manabao and i was not accustomed to listening to afro dominican music either. when you think about it just because we are all dominicans does not mean that are cultures are entirely the same. case in point what you mentioned concerning the music you an i grew up with. you mention luis segura and i commend you for mentioning him an i will mention eladio romero santos and leonardo paniagua. the pioneers of bachata! i was just saying that in the republic we have such music.

Ok I understand where you come from now. Before, I felt like you were in attack mode.I agree with everything you stated.I will check him out right now,I had no idea of this man.I am from Santiago, well from a campo of Santiago. No need to state, you will not know where it is! I am truly campesina, from the mountains and all! So our music is completely different. I was just saying this is so beuatiful to me b/c its so different from my culture,MY campesino culture.
@murggik En Puerto ...
