is this the same ak band from kenilworth that won the battle of the bands either late 70 /early80s

Hi howe1955. no this is not the original AK Band from Kenilworth, consisting of Ian D. Miles (named Johnny Ak), Neville Jones (the bass playing singer and Maz ? (drums), who won the "Battle of the Bands" contest in 1980, promoted by TDK and RCS Records, who released their one and only album "Manhole Kids" in 1981. Still available in vinyl at eBay auctions. I used to work with Ian and Neville here in Germany in 1984 till 1986, when we finally had to stop, totally burned out with no money left.

this ak band actually is from manchester UK, but for the last 10yrs has been touring around switzerland...they take a more improvised approach to playing covers---they are also songwriters in there spare time.he he
