If you get the feel, then only the Hoyt Axton version was real. Yogi Milsap brought a copy of his last recording session & the last song that he ever wrote was a lament about not saving any money, having to work like a dog 'til ya die. He coulda told me that back when I started living this song. His ma, Mae Axton wrote the Elvis hit "Heartbreat Hotel" Hoyt wrote hundreds of hits.
