c12mna-- "Evita" is not an original American musical play. It open in London in 1978 written by Andrew LLoyd Weber (British composer of musical theater and lyric by British Tim Rice) and there is the broadway production in 1979 and 1981 Madrid production in spanish version played by Paloma San Basilio. You probably thought its an original American production because of the movie "Evita" in 1996 played by Madonna and Antonio Banderas.

you gotta take into account that this is live, it doesn't compare to a studio recording. I agree with you she didn't seem to care much, but i for one, like it.

spion1389-- Until you hear Paloma San Basilio in Spanish version in Madrid live play "No Llores Por Mi Argentina" You haven't heard the full impact,the intensity, emotion and passion of this song. Although I don't understand Spanish I cried with her when she cried for Argentina! Its the very best version. Julie Covington version is good but still only the second best along with Karen Carpenter version.

nestorvg90- That's fair enough.But like spion1389 said Sinead O'Connor and Paloma San Basilio rendition of the song were performed Live while Madonna's was recorded and probably took several try until they got it right then enchanged in the recording studio for the Movie.
